The Tip-Off Classic

It was a great time to catch some of what Atlanta has to offer in the 2029 class. The Tip-Off Classic didn’t disappoint. Here are a few of the up and comers in the 2029 class.

Atlanta Celtics 2029

Deuce Grayson (2030) Ordinarily I wouldn’t include a 2030 in a report on 2029’s but Grayson (PG) is worth noting. He is considered one of the top players in his class and doesn’t look out of place playing up. The PG has a good feel for the position, can stroke it in the deep and middy range and can get paint touches. Keep your eyes on him as he continues to develop and add strength.

Kenneth Reed Jr.- Shooting guard that knows how to get buckets. He has a smmoth offensive game that shows patience and pace and confidence. Never rushed during our watch, just poised and purposeful.

Dalemonte McCallum – Athletic guard with high motor that impressed his will on the opposition with his hard work and effort. With his motor I Look for him to continue to develop his skill set to couple with athleticism over the next few years. He’ll be fun to watch,

Janub Duor – Long, rangy wing brings a non-stop motor which makes him a multi-positional defender and dangerous in the passing lanes. Offensively he transitions well on the break and a very good finisher. Showed some bounce and solid stroke from the mid-range.

AOT 2029

Amari Medhin – Smooth operator with scoring tools and confidence to get to his spots. He played a year of varsity ball and it shows in his composure on the floor. Can score from a variety of spots on the floor and keeps pressure on the defense with attacking mindset.

Nate James Jr. – Son of former Duke assistant, James can fill it up from downtown. Has easy stroke but also has a physical body that serves him well when he attacks the paint.

AE5 2029

Chase Wilson – A strong downhill guard that gets to the paint at will and finsihes through contact. He was tough on the glass and added another dimension to his team by being able snatch boards and start the break.

Jamaal Oliver – Oh boy, this pg can he fill it up! Oliver went on a tear from deep during our viewing that I lost count. Smallish in size right now, but huge in confidence and heart, he was relentless in his approach with his approach on offense. He handles himself out of trouble, has a quick release, utilizes his shooting ability to attack closeouts all without being rushed. Look for that smallish tag to be short lived as the genes suggest that will change. Think Chris Anderson Jr. (Texas Tech)

Dorian Douglas – Heady point guard that utilizes his speed to beat defenders up court or to the paint with quick bursts. Nice job of kicking up the floor and showed vision when breaking down defeders and finisng teammates.
